Diabetes: medical consultation by phone, available 7 days a week
In your daily hectic life, did you forget that you are running out of insulin and need a prescription quickly? Or do you want to discuss your check-up results with your doctor? Whether you have diabetes or suspect you have the symptoms, a medical consultation will certainly clear up any doubts. If your test results are elevated (abnormal), find out what you can do to lower them and thus reduce the risk of developing the disease.

Diabetes is a disease of affluence
Diabetes mellitus (ICD-10: E10) is a metabolic disorder characterised by the pancreas not producing enough insulin (a hormone that regulates glucose metabolism) or not producing it at all.

The disease can be divided into two main types:
type 1 diabetes;
type 2 diabetes.
Type 2 diabetes is the most common form of diabetes and is a lifestyle disease that is not only caused by genetic predisposition but also by a destructive lifestyle. This includes a poor diet based on fat and highly processed products as well as being overweight or obese, i.e. being overweight.

Type 1 diabetes, on the other hand, is usually caused by an autoimmune process in which the immune system attacks the insulin-producing cells of the pancreas. The occurrence of this type of diabetes is virtually uncontrollable, and people of a very young age and children often fall ill.

Register at the Dimedic online clinic and fill in the initial form, describing your symptoms.
Describe your health problem in detail in the form.
You can attach your latest blood glucose results or a summary from your insulin pump (if you use one on a daily basis).
After paying for the consultation, the doctor will contact you at a time of your choosing (the Dimedic clinic is open 7 days a week, including public holidays, and doctors offer consultations from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.). Diabetes medication - online prescription and treatment, what can you expect?
First of all, it is important to realise that diabetes is a serious disease. It cannot be cured, regardless of the type.

People who suffer from it must be under the constant care of a diabetologist, but also of other doctors (e.g. ophthalmologist, neurologist and others), because complications related to diabetes often go beyond the problems with the body's sugar management.

The constant intake of insulin or medication for diabetes can also make life difficult due to the need to constantly renew prescriptions. It may have happened to you that you suddenly run out of insulin at the weekend. What can you do in this situation? You can make an appointment at the Dimedic online clinic, which will provide you with advice (and an e-prescription) seven days a week. In fact, shortly after the consultation, you will have all the data in your email and you won't have to worry about running out of diabetes medication. It is also convenient on holiday (including abroad), as the clinic can also issue prescriptions that are valid outside of Poland (so-called cross-border prescriptions).

What if you don't have diabetes but suspect that something is wrong with your body? The doctor will be able to refer you for appropriate tests and also indicate the direction of further treatment. For example, refer you for a consultation with a diabetologist (based on an electronic referral). Some symptoms do not necessarily indicate that you have type 2 diabetes. It is possible that the symptoms indicate insulin resistance or prediabetes (which can be treated).

Tests you can take before a medical consultation
If you suspect that you have diabetes and want to consult a doctor, you can always do a few tests beforehand, so that you can start taking action faster.

These include:
testing glucose levels on an empty stomach and after a meal;
glucose tolerance test (sugar curve);
testing urine for glucose
testing urine and plasma for ketones.
HbA1c - glycated haemoglobin

How much does a telephone consultation with a doctor about diabetes cost?
The price of a telephone consultation with an online family doctor from Dimedic is a maximum of 99.99 PLN. Dimedic.eu is a private clinic, which is why we can provide medical services both after the opening hours of the GP clinic and on weekends and public holidays. Our doctors work every day from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and call patients from the phone number 426 412 041. You can also choose the time slot in which the doctor will contact you. It's really convenient, especially when you don't have time to make an appointment with a doctor in the heat of everyday life.
