How does a phone consultation with a doctor for back pain work?
– Register at the Dimedic online clinic and fill out the initial form where you describe your symptoms and – if possible – attach photos of your back (instructions in the form; this allows the doctor to assess your posture at first glance).
– Describe your health problem in detail in the form.
– After paying for the consultation, the doctor will contact you at your chosen time slot (Dimedic operates 7 days a week, including holidays; doctors are available from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.). Doctors call patients from the number +48 426 412 041 (save it in your phone – you’ll know who’s calling).
– After the consultation, you will receive medical recommendations and – if the doctor deems it necessary – an e-prescription for medication to treat back pain.

Suffering from back pain? Consult a doctor online – even on weekends!

Sometimes a single wrong move is enough to injure your back. This can even happen during sleep, and then you wake up feeling “broken.” Sound familiar?

Usually, this involves the lower (lumbar) spine or the neck. Where does the pain come from? Often, it’s a combination of factors such as stress, fatigue, or overstraining your body. This can lead to headaches, nausea, or even high fever.

Back pain – where does it come from?

Unfortunately, back pain (ICD-10: M54.4) is a common issue that can affect anyone (from children to the elderly). It’s often caused by stress-related muscle tension or injuries sustained during physical activity – especially if you’re not regularly active.

Work conditions are also a frequent culprit. Sitting for hours at a computer without stretching or taking breaks can take a toll. One wrong move, like a sudden twist, can trigger pain and restricted movement.

What symptoms may accompany back pain?
– Increased warmth or swelling in the painful area
– High fever
– Persistent pain not relieved by rest
– Weight loss
– Headaches
– Nausea and vomiting
– Difficulty urinating or defecating
– Leg pain
– Urinary incontinence
– Numbness in the buttocks or genital area
– Limited range of motion
– Trouble concentrating

If you experience any of these, contact a doctor as soon as possible. Inflammation can spread quickly, and that's a serious risk.

What does the doctor need to know during the consultation?
– Where the pain is located
– Whether the pain radiates and to which areas
– How long the symptoms have lasted
– When and under what circumstances the pain started or worsens
– Any previous treatments
– Any injuries
– Other health conditions that could be related

What medications might a doctor prescribe for back pain?
The doctor may recommend:
– Stronger anti-inflammatory and pain relief medication (if over-the-counter options don’t help)
– Rest and recovery
– Supportive ointments or warming gels

They may also recommend:
– Warm baths
– Heat packs or warming pillows
– Plenty of rest in a spine-friendly position
– Pain relief patches (warming or cooling)

Home care and prevention:
– Change your lifestyle and stay active (e.g., swimming, walking, yoga)
– Ensure proper posture at work and during sleep
– Take regular breaks during work
– Use ergonomic furniture if possible

How much does a phone consultation cost?
Up to 99.99 PLN. Dimedic operates outside standard clinic hours – evenings, weekends, and holidays. Doctors work from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Will you receive a prescription or sick leave after the consultation?
Yes, if the doctor finds it necessary. You’ll receive all documents (e-prescription, ZUS-ZLA sick note) via email. If you have an Internet Patient Account (IKP), you’ll also find them there. You’ll also receive a confirmation via SMS.
